Traditional White Marble Plaster

This
statement has been accepted by the National Plasterers’
Council (NPC), the National Spa & Pool Institute (NSPI)
and the Independent Pool and Spa Service Association (IPSSA)
Ocean
Clear Pool Co. uses plaster made with the finest natural
material available. This plaster surface will be watertight
and will not peel, blister or delaminate provided that the
pool structure (steel and gunite) remains sound, that start-up
procedures recommended by the builder or service company are
followed, and that all the water chemistry after start-up is
properly maintained in accordance with the instructions
specified from your builder or service company. Water
chemistry consists of: total alkalinity, pH, hardness (calcium
and magnesium, total dissolved solids (TDS) and the absence of
iron, copper and other stain-producing metals.
Since
pool plaster is composed of natural materials which have
certain inherent characteristics, a certain amount of shading
or color variation is a natural occurrence, which should not
be construed as a defect and which only enhances the natural
beauty of your pool. The plaster cannot be guaranteed for
evenness of color and, if plaster is colored, may not be the
exact shade anticipated. The shade and color may vary and fade
over time. The plaster may become streaked, blotchy or have a
mottled appearance, over which the contractor has no control.
Since plaster is a cement material, cracking (check cracks or
hairline cracks) may be noticeable and may be more pronounced
with colored plaster.
Due
to atmospheric conditions (humidity, temperature, etc.) during
plastering, light and/or dark streaks (a marbleized look) may
appear in the plaster and may be more pronounced on a cloudy
day or at night with the light on. These conditions are beyond
the contractor’s control.
